As we all know, plate heat exchangers usually produce some scale-like things when they are in use, which is caused by improper use of their products during use and treatment.
Before, we also mentioned the causes of scale and how to remove it. So what I want to talk about today is to understand the working principle of scale. Let’s learn about it with the editor.
1. Peeling effect: The acid solution can dissolve the oxides on the metal surface of the plate heat exchanger and break the bond with the scale, so that the scale attached to the surface of the metal oxide can peel off and fall off.
2. Dissolution: The acid solution easily reacts with calcium, magnesium, and carbonate scale to form easily soluble compounds to dissolve the scale.
3. Loosening effect: For the mixed scale containing silicate and sulfate, since the oxides of calcium, magnesium, carbonate and iron dissolve in the acid solution, the remaining scale will become loose and it is easy to be flowed by the acid solution. Wash it down.
4. Air lift effect: After the acid solution reacts with calcium, magnesium, and carbonate scale, a large amount of carbon dioxide is produced. During the overflow process of the carbon dioxide gas of the plate heat exchanger, it has a certain lifting power for the insoluble or slow-dissolving scale layer, so that the scale will fall off the heated surface of the heat exchanger.
When the plate heat exchanger removes the scale, the basic principle is different depending on the method. Correspondingly, the process of the reaction between the scale and the acid solution is also very different. At the same time, it depends on the situation when you remove the scale. .
